SAML Logout Request (SP -> IdP)

About

What is a SAML Logout Request?

A Logout Request is something like a command, usually sent to order a Logout, and expect to return a Logout Request.

Where does it come from?

It may be sent by either the Identity Provider or Service Provider to initiate the single logout flow, depending on different use cases.

And here are two examples of SAML Logout Request :

  1. A Logout Request with its Signature (HTTP-Redirect binding)
  2. A Logout Request with the signature embedded (HTTP-POST binding)
